TrueLies: GOP is to be blamed for Obama’s failure

Those who support Obama will tell you the reason why his first three years have been a failure is because the GOP would not let him get anything done. People that hold that point of view have forgotten that Obama was elected in 2008, not 2010. Obama took office in 2009 with a democratic majority in the House and in the Senate. This meant that anything he wanted passed he could pass with or without the GOP’s approval. He could have passed any type of immigration reform, he could have closed Guantanamo, he could have done anything he wanted because the GOP did not have enough votes to do anything against his policies. Obama, with the help of Pelosi and Reid, did do quite a bit during the first two years, one of them being Obamacare. Remember the town-hall meetings where Sheila Jackson Lee answered her phone while taking a question from a concerned citizen? This was an effort to try to convince the American people into believing that Obamacare would actually be good for the country. This was not the only blunder from the Obamacare town hall days. The vast majority was against it, yet they continued forward and got it passed. Remember cash and clunkers? That was done with an all democratic House and Senate. So Obama was able to do a lot in the first two years of his term. The problem for Obama, and more so for the American people, is that all the policies he put in place were utter failures. That is why the 2010 election was a huge win for the GOP. The election was not really a vote of confidence on the GOP but rather a vote against Obama’s performance.

What Obama did not do, whoever, was to keep the promises he made while campaigning in 2008. Again, people in favor of Obama are quick to say that all politicians brake promises. They say things while campaigning they have no intention on following through while in office. To those people I would point out that Obama was supposed to be the outsider that was beyond politics. He was the person that embodied hope and change, that would unite the country. He meant everything he said, right? Because if Obama is just like any other politician then he is pathological lair that will say anything in order to get elected, a person drunk on his power that will stop at nothing to get what he wants.

So no, the GOP did not make the first three years of Obama’s presidency a failure, his policies did. What he has done has not work and the state of our country is testimony to that.

It’s all about who you know

If you were to Google Obama’s half brain you will notice that most of the results are for Valerie Jarrett.  Her story is very interesting and, in a nutshell, she has been part of the Chicago political machine since she graduated from Stanford in 1978.  She now serves as Obama’s top advisor (hence the reference to being half of his brain). What’s most telling about her is the people she is associated with and the networks in which she pops up.  Keep in mind that this is the person Obama has been quoted as saying that he does not make a decision without her.  Below is a representation of the network of people surrounding her either by direct association or because at some point they were part of the same organization.  Every single organization she is connected to has extreme left ideologies directly linked to the communist agenda.

If you do the same with SDS (Students for a Democratic Society), this is the network you get.  This is where a lot of familiar names (too many to discuss them all, but I’ve circled a few to bring attention to them).

Jarrett is associated to SDS through Marilyn Kantz, her mentor, who, after SDS dissolved, helped Bill Ayers create the famous Weather Underground terrorist movement.  Kantz would help form the New American Movement, which included in its ranks the likes of known communist Rabbi Michael Lerner.  The group’s primary political text, entitled Basic Marxism: What It Is & How to Use It, revealed the group’s devotion to the Italian Marxist Antonio Gramsci.

So now you get a very small glimpse at Obama’s half brain.  Being that we know so little about Obama’s past, and, by the way, that is by design, we can only know who he really is and what he believes in by the people with whom he has decided to associate.  There is a saying in Spanish that loosely translates to “tell me who you surround yourself with and I will tell you who you are.”

Knowledge, Understanding and Wisdom

My wife is reading a book that applies these concept of learning through these steps:  we first gain knowledge, we make connections between the knowledge we gain and the knowledge we already have, and then we put this understanding into practice which leads to gaining wisdom.  Thus, there is no wisdom without understanding and there is no understanding without knowledge.  This applies to everything in life. So when I hear someone say “I’m not political” to answer a comment regarding the state of our country or the performance of our government I wonder if the person realizes what that says about them.  Government touches every aspect of our lives and our money out of each paycheck is funnel into this beast that by and large does not administer these funds properly.  There is also the tendency for people who get elected to a given position to forget who is really paying their salary.  So the fact that people don’t really pay attention to the day-to-day dealings of our government sets the perfect environment for government officials to think that they can get away with anything.  Unfortunately this attitude that we save the government instead of the other way around.  So we can’t afford to sit on the sidelines and watch while our government continues to waste money under the excuse of social justice.  We can’t sit by idle while our government moves more and more to the left.  We can’t look the other way while the agenda of the few (as in 6% of the population in the case of gay marriage) is imposed on the majority.  If we are to get our debt under control, if we are to preserve the values that made this country the best country in the world then we can’t just continue to use the excuse that we are not political.  If you are not political then get political.  Being “political” does not mean becoming an obnoxious, loud mouth jerk that bullies his way into conversations trying to make people feel stupid for what stance they take.  Being political is becoming informed (acquire knowledge), making connections between what we know and are learning (understanding) and then having gained that understanding we then are able to decipher what’s being said by politicians versus what they really mean.  We’ll be wise to see the true motives behind their actions and then make more informed decisions as to who and why we want in office.

Obama’s change of heart on gay marriage

In the last few days we have seen politics at its best from the crowd that about four years offered Hope and Change as the slogan, driving millions to the polls to vote for a little known community organizer to the White House.  That is a mouth full, and probably a run-on sentence, but its is true.  On Sunday vice-president Biden in an interview with NBC’s Meet the Press said that he personally was open to legalizing gay marriage.  In his words

“The president sets the policy. I am absolutely comfortable with the fact that men marrying men, women marrying women and heterosexual men and women marrying one another are entitled to the same exact rights, all the civil rights, all the civil liberties…”

On Wednesday Obama forced by Biden’s statement, had to address the issue by making a statement to ABC news that his position had “evolved” and that now he was for gay marriage.  Nevermind that back in August of 2008 when running from president when asked by Rick Warren if he was for gay marriage as per his core Christian beliefs was between a man and a woman.  So in four years someone’s core beliefs change so radically as to be in favor of something that before they were against?  What do you really believe in Mr. President?  But I digress…

Immediately the media jumps on the band wagon of how the nation, not the president’s beliefs, has evolved (USA Today and many others).  Apparently Obama’s lack of moral compass and conviction is indicative of the nation’s lack of morals and conviction?  Nevermind that time and time again people have voted and by large marginsagainst gay marriage proposals even in liberal states like California.  So no, the only oneevolving, and right before the election season I might add, is the president not the American people.  But I digess yet again…

So Wednesday, and before the president’s statement about the evolution of his core beliefs, Biden apologized to Obama for havingforced him to come out and talk about the issue he apparently was not ready to talk about just yet.

What Biden, Obama and the machine that controls them set in motion Sunday was the means by which Obama could all of a sudden get this what I call “diahrrea of the mouth” on the subject of gay marriage.  No sooner that he is forced to talk about this issue that apparently he was in no way ready to talk about, hence Biden’s apology, he holds a fundraiser at George Clooney’s house, and what do you know, he brings up the subject of gay marriage.  “It was a logical extension of what America is supposed to be,” he said.  Really?  Or is it the logical place foryou to be Mr. President in order to rake in 15 million dollars from the Holywood crowd?  Follow the money.  This events are scheduled months in advance.  Obama knows he has to face this group of people that are obviously in favor gay marriage.  So they set this plan in motion that allows the president to talk about something that will mean contributions for his campaign.  Am I the only one that is seeing this for what it is?  If at all, Mr. President, you cut it a little close.  I mean, less than a week ago you were opposed to the very issue that would stand in the way of you getting 15 million of the 1 billion you are expected to raise on this campaign.  Which brings me to something interesting.  Coming from the group that wants to “grow the pie” why not distribute your 1 billion to the people that are in need? Oh, that’s right.  What liberals like to do, and what they mean when they say “pie” is other’s peoples money, not their own.  See, their money is their money, your money is the pie that is going to get grown, sliced equally and given to somebody else.  But I digress yet again…
