Simple ideas are usually the best ones, and the latest idea for dealing with the looming battle over the federal debt limit is beautifully simple. But when you have consumer debt raising, it is no surprise that the government is acting much like the populous that elected it. With Tuesday Jan 8th as the 1350th day since our government has been operating without a budget, it is no surprise that asking to pass one before we ask to raise the debt ceiling is seemed as a crazy idea.
